Right to planned treatment in Slovenia
Foreign insured individuals can access planned treatment in the Republic of Slovenia according to:
- Slovenian legislation,
- Regulation (EC) 883/2004 of the European Parliament and of the Council on the coordination of social security systems (exceeding the maximum allowed waiting period or exceeding reasonable time),
- Directive 2011/24/EU on the application of patients' rights in cross-border healthcare (decision to be treated in another EU Member State).
If the insured individual pays for the planned treatment in Slovenia, they are entitled to the reimbursement of costs in the country of permanent residence, according to the method and procedure valid in the country of permanent residence.
